The Morning After: Loyola, UIC Fall

By Marcus Gilmer in News on Feb 9, 2010 4:00PM

  • Loyola took an early lead against No. 15 Butler and held a slim two-point lead at the half but Butler proved too strong, rolling past the Ramblers 62-47. No Loyola players broke double-digits in scoring but Geoff McCammon and Walt Gibler each scored nine points.
  • UIC slid back into the losing column Monday night as Valparaiso squeaked past the Flames 83-82. A late Flames run put UIC back in contention but Valpo nailed some late free throws to pull away. A last second three pointer by Robo Kreps (who had 17 points) closed the final score gap but wasn't enough. Jeremy Buttell led all scorers with 25 points.
