Chicago Police have identified a suspect in the Halloween night hit-and-run death of Rachel Gilliam. Gilliam was struck and killed by a vehicle as she was leaving Bowman's Bar and Grill where she worked as a bartender. Police named Carlos Castillo as a suspect at a press conference yesterday. According to the Tribune:

Police are asking for the public's help in locating Castillo. A day after the crash, Castillo quit his job at a North Side food store, telling his boss he was leaving for Mexico to care for his sick mother.

A tipster who heard about the hit-and-run on the news led police to Castillo's home, police said. In December, police served a search warrant at the residence and found a silver vehicle with front-end damage. Physical evidence linked Gilliam to the vehicle, a police source said.

Police said there was also a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the hit-and-run.

Anyone with more information on Castillo or his current location are asked to contact the CPD's Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312-745-4521.
