Do This: National Margarita Day

By Chuck Sudo in Food on Feb 22, 2010 6:20PM

2010_02_margarita.jpg Late February isn't the best time to have a food holiday for a cocktail associated with summers and beaches, but today is National Margarita Day anyway. We don't set the holidays; we just tell you about them.

Celebrating National Margarita Day this evening is Zocalo (358 W. Ontario, 312-302-9977), which will be offering everything from their $5 house margarita to a flight of margaritas for $12. Try the strawberry-jalapeƱo margarita with agave loco pepper cured reposado tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice and fresh strawberries and a sugar rim for $10; an organic margarita with Partida reposado, fresh lime juice, and 100% organic agave nectar for $12; or the $20 1942 margarita with Don Julio 1942, agave nectar, lime juice, for you high rollers. Enjoy any or all of these with half-price appetizers at the bar from 5-7 p.m.
