Ozzie Guillen Joins Twitter, Sox Management Not Happy

It made our week when we learned that White Sox skipper Ozzie Guillen had made the leap and joined Twitter. Known for speaking his mind, what venue could be better for Oz to share his off-the-cuff thoughts with his fans and followers, especially as the team begins Spring Training? Tweeting for less than a day, Ozzie's already offered classics like this non sequitur, "going to eat in half hour why dye no have a job?" referring to former Sox outfielder Jermaine Dye.
While we're happy so see Ozzie embracing social media, White Sox management doesn't share our sentiment. When asked his thoughts about Guillen's new hobby, GM Kenny Williams, quipped, "No comment ... and make sure you write that it is a no comment with a head shake from side to side."
"I feel like I was doing something wrong," Guillen said. "People are treating me like I was a murderer or something, or steal someone's money or didn't pay my taxes." It's not like he's even been tapping away at his iPhone in the dugout and he's already drawn the ire of Sox brass.
While Sox fans can now follow their outspoken manager's every thought -- for now, anyway -- will Cubs fans get the same access to Sweet Lou? Not very likely! When asked about Guillen's tweeting, the Cubs skipper Piniella responded:
First of all, I don't know how to Twitter. Second of all, I'm not going to learn how to Twitter. Look, I've heard of Facebook. Actually, it's on my phone; I see it once in a while. But I'm really not a Facebook or Twitter guy, you know? I'm a prime rib and baked potato guy.
Come on, Lou, you'd be a natural for Twitter, too!
