1 Dead, 1 Critical In Lynwood Car Crash

One pedestrian was killed and another was critically injured when a pickup truck struck them in south suburban Lynwood early Sunday, police said. Around 2:15 a.m., the Lynwood Police Department received a call about an accident on Glenwood Dyer Road, near 2030 Glenwood Dyer Road, which is the site of the Lynwood Roller Rink, police said.
Witnesses told police that a white Ford pickup was seen driving westbound on Glenwood Dyer Road after hitting two pedestrians. With the help of a witness, Lynwood police were able to stop the pickup truck near I-394 and I-80/294, near Lansing. The driver was taken to Lynwood Police Department and later to a local hospital. One of the two pedestrians died and the other is listed in critical but stable condition. The South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team, the Lynwood Fire Department, Sauk Village, Thornton, Steger, and Lynwood police are taking part in the investigation. [Chicago Sun-Times]
