Three people - a couple and their son - were killed in a home invasion overnight in the west suburb of Darien. The victims were Jeffrey Kramer, 50, his wife Lori Kramer, 46, and their son Michael, 20. A young woman now identified as the couple's daughter, who survived the attack by hiding in a closet, called police shortly after 3 a.m. Survivors also include the couple's other son and a female whose relation to the family was not detailed. Deputy Police Chief John Cooper told reporters, “We are trying to figure out who we are looking for. It wasn't a random thing. It was a targeted thing.” Police Chief Robert Pavelchic added, "The neighborhood is not in danger...It doesn't appear there's a suspect running around the neighborhood." According to police, there were no other injuries or witnesses in the attack. [Tribune, Sun-Times]
