Suspect In Darien Triple Murder In Custody (Updated)

By Marcus Gilmer in News on Mar 3, 2010 9:40PM

While he hasn't been named, authorities say they are seeking a 23-year-old man as a suspect in yesterday's triple murder in the west suburb of Darien. Police alerted authorities in Florida since they believe he may be headed there to see family. The man is said to be driving a 1994 BMW and, according to the Tribune, "The alert advises officers to use caution if approaching the car because he may be armed with a .40-caliber Glock pistol in a shoulder holster. The alert describes him as 'possibly suicidal.'"

The victims were Jeffrey Kramer, 50, his wife Lori Kramer, 46, and their son Michael, 20. Three others were in the house at the time of the murders but weren't hurt: the Kramers' daughter Angela, who hid in a closet and called 911, their oldest son Anthony, 29, and a 17-year-old female friend of Michael's. Deputy Police Chief John Cooper said none of the three witnessed the shootings.

UPDATE: ABC 7 is reporting the man is now in custody.
