CTA Bus Driver Attacked With Hammer

Today in news that makes us shake our heads and ask, "What the hell?": an 18-year-old man was arrested and a CTA bus driver was hospitalized after an argument over bus fare turned violent. The alleged attack happened yesterday afternoon on a 53A South Pulaski bus. According to the Sun-Times, the bus was stopped in the 5400 block of South Pulaski when the attack occurred. After the attacker hit the bus driver, fellow passengers called 911 and held the suspect until police could arrive. The bus driver was last reported in serious condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
