The Morning After: Illini Season Over

Illinois Loses, NIT Run Done
Illinois
made a second half run but it wasn't enough to get past the Dayton Flyers, who beat the Illini 77-71 in the NIT quarterfinals. The Flyers led by double-digits a good portion of the game and held off a late run as Illinois chipped the lead away, but Dayton hit key free throws and it was simply too little too late for the Illini. Demetri McCamey scored 13 to lead Illinois while Mike Davis and DJ Richardson each added 10. Illinois finishes the season with a 21-15 (10-8 conference) record.

Spring Training
It was a big day at the plate for both our teams as each scored double-digit run totals. The Sox routed the Diamondbacks 10-3, led by Omar Vizquel's three RBIs. And veteran third baseman Chad Tracy had five RBIs in the Cubs' 12-1 pummeling of the Rangers.
