We're not sure if this is creative, dumb, or both. Carly Houston of Chicago was arrested in Naperville over the weekend for disorderly conduct after she refused to pay her cab fare. But when given the chance to make a phone call in lock-up, the woman dialed 911. According to the Daily Herald:

Police said they were initially called to a BP service station at 901 N. Washington St. after Houston reportedly became irate inside the cab. The driver, fearing for his safety, pulled over and called police.

Upon arrival, police officers tried to intervene and get Houston to pay her bill. She refused to pay and continued being disruptive, Anders said, which forced police to arrest her and charge her with disorderly conduct.

But when given the chance to call someone to post her bail and pick her up, she instead chose to call 911. Police released audio of the recording yesterday; here's a transcript via WBBM 780.

Operator: "Naperville 911, how may I help you?" Houston: "Hi. I am in, like, I'm trapped in, like, the Naperville 911. So…." Operator: "You're trapped where?" Houston: "In the Naperville 911. So…"

Already facing misdemeanor charges of theft of services and criminal trespass for refusing to pay the cab fare, Houston also had a charge of filing a false 911 report tacked on as well.
