Look, we love Lollapalooza's three day long smorgasbord of music that allows you to wander around Grant Park and sample a little of this and a little of that. But we have to give the prize for the most solid ROI on every dollar spent on a ticket line-up to the Pitchfork Music Festival this year. Their line-up is laser focused and we suspect that by the end of the hot July weekend it occupies, Union Park will just be a smoking crater in the ground.

The opening salvo of Pavement, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, LCD Soundsystem, etc. was more than enough to justify our standing in the summer heat with huge smiles plastered across our collective mug. But yesterday's announcement that the line-up would be rounded out by Big Boi (as we suspected), Free Energy, and Robyn -- among others -- has ensured that we will just set up a pup tent and not leave the park for three solid days.

The 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival is on on July 16 - 18 at Union Park. Tickets are still available.
