The Morning After: Bulls, Cubs Lose

By Marcus Gilmer in News on Apr 20, 2010 3:00PM

Bulls No Match For LeBron
We'll give the Bulls credit: they certainly put up a hell of a fight last night against the heavily favored Cleveland Cavaliers in Game Two of their NBA quarterfinals series. But the difference between the teams became clear as the Cavs pulled away late for a 112-102 victory and a 2-0 series lead. The Cavs led by as many as 10 in the first quarter, but the Bulls hung tough and cut the lead to just two by the half. The Bulls actually pulled into a back-and-forth battle with the Cavs in the third but LeBron James (40 points) and Jamario Moon (12 points, 9 in the fourth) lifted the Cavs past the Bulls for the win. Joakim Noah led the Bulls with 25 points and 13 rebounds and Derrick Rose added 23 in the losing effort. The series now switches to Chicago where the Bulls hope to get a home-court bounce Thursday night in Game Three (6 p.m., CSN/TNT).

Cubs Fall To Mets
Blah blah blah Cubs lose 6-1. Blah blah blah eleventy billion runners left on base. Wells throws six great innings blah blah blah bullpen wastes another great effort by starter. Blah blah Soriano gives lackluster effort (when you hit the ball, run) blah blah blah. Game two of four game series tonight (6:10 p.m., WGN).
