Cavs, LeBron Blast Bulls
Well, we were waaaaaaaay off on that one, huh? No amount of late-night partying was going to slow down LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers who destroyed the Bulls 121-98. And LeBron? He had a 37-12-11 triple-double. Joakim Noah had a 21-20 for the Bulls and Derrick Rose also scored 21, but the Bulls were just overwhelmed by the Cavs. Cleveland now leads the series 3-1 with Game Five tomorrow night in Cleveland (7 p.m., CSN/TNT). Can the Bulls fight off elimination? Derrick Rose thinks so, saying, "We have to at least give a challenge. We have got to play with a lot of energy and play together and attack the whole game." We'd love to see them pull it off, but at this point, it just doesn't seem likely.
Cubs Maul Milwaukee
What a difference a week makes. After struggling against Houston and New York, the Cubs completed a weekend sweep of the Brewers with an easy 12-1 victory on Sunday. The Cubs out-scored the Brewers 25-4 over the course of the weekend, a welcome offensive outburst. Kosuke Fukudome, Tyler Colvin, Geovanny Soto, and Derrek Lee all had homers while Colvin and Ryan Theriot each had three RBI to lead the team. Randy Wells pitched a solid seven innings (2 ER, 7 K's) for his second win of the season. The Cubs are now back home and have their first night game of the season at Wrigley when they welcome in the Nationals (7:05 p.m., CSN+).
Sox Edge Seattle
It wasn't a walk-off homer like Friday and Saturday, but the Sox still had late-inning heroics for a 3-2 win over Seattle on Sunday to complete the series sweep. With the scored tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth, Paul Konerko connected for a solo home run that put the Sox ahead for good. John Danks had a great outing to move to 3-0 on the year (8 IP, 2 ER, 5 K's) and Bobby Jenks held on in the ninth for the save. The Sox hope to carry the momentum over to their series at Texas which starts tomorrow night after an off day today (Tuesday: 7:05 p.m., CSN+)
