Literary Happenings: Sedaris, NFT, and Capone

Here's a trio of literary events - two happening tonight and one still a few months - that caught our attention.
David Sedaris will be at Steppenwolf this summer.
- Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. today for An Evening With David Sedaris. He'll be at Steppenwolf for a week this summer reading selections from his newest book Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary, which will be released this fall.
Steppenwolf Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St., June 8-13, $35, tickets via the Steppenwolf website. - To celebrate the 8th edition of the Not For Tourists Chicago guidebook and the release of their new iPhone app, NFT is throwing a book release party tonight that involves a free copies of the 2010 guide and free 312 Urban Wheat Ale. You'll need to print the voucher to get the free stuff.
Sheffield's, 3258 N. Sheffield Ave., 7 p.m. - 10 p.m., free, RSVP on Facebook - Jonathan Eig, who authored the Chicago Gangland Tour iPhone app and Get Capone and who appeared on the most recent Chicagoist podcast, will be reading tonight from his book about the rise and fall of America's most wanted gangster.
The Book Cellar, 4736 North Lincoln Avenue, 7 p.m., free
