Go Fly A Kite

By Marcus Gilmer in Miscellaneous on Apr 30, 2010 2:20PM

We're coming up on the first weekend in May and we know what that means: kites! That's right, it's time for the Mayor's annual Kids and Kites Fest. The sky at Montrose Harbor will be filled with kites of all shapes, sizes, colors... you get the picture. But, seriously, we're totally down with the idea, especially with the weather forecast to be so pleasant. And as has been proven, Cricket Hill is one of the more beautiful, photogenic spots along the lakefront that we know of. Will there be enough wind to keep kites flying? The forecast calls for "breezy" conditions, so it looks promising. Just one piece of advice to all the kite enthusiasts coming out: don't get too close to the trees; we hear they eat kites.
