Kite Fest 2010

By Marcus Gilmer in Arts & Entertainment on May 3, 2010 6:00PM

Saturday was a (mostly) lovely day to fly a kite. Brisk winds and seasonable temperatures made for fantastic kite conditions at the city's annual Kite and Kids Fest at Cricket Hill in Montrose Harbor. If there was one qualm we had, it's that the sky, blue and sunny earlier in the morning, clouded over shortly after we arrived (coincidence, we swear). Still, the gray skies simply made the colorful kites stand out even more against the sky and the crowd of children and parents enjoyed the festivities even if some time was spent ducking the occasional string line and falling kite.
