Weekend Diversion: StoryCorp and Moms
By Marcus Gilmer in Miscellaneous on May 8, 2010 8:00PM
Tomorrow is Mother's Day and we're suckers for heart-warming videos like this. It was done by StoryCorps, an oral history project that's collecting conversations with people and preserving them at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. The below video is a tremendous example of the fantastic work being done.
In early 2006, 12-year-old Joshua Littman, who has Asperger’s syndrome, interviewed his mother, Sarah, at StoryCorps. Their one-of-a-kind conversation covered everything from cockroaches to Sarah’s feelings about Joshua as a son.
So watch, listen, and enjoy a mother's love and patience for her child. Now excuse while we go call our mom and tell her how much we love her. [via]
