Chicagoist Podcast 5/10 - Chicago Film Office's Rich Moskal and...Boba Fett?
By Karl Klockars in Arts & Entertainment on May 10, 2010 7:30PM
In this week's entry to the Chicagoist Podcast Series, we turn again to the world of film. There are a lot of crews in town setting up, shooting, casting, scouting and creating TV and movies around town, so we spoke with the guy who wrangles them all. Rich Moskal runs the Chicago Film Office and facilitates everything from Michael Bay tearing down Michigan Avenue, all the way down to the smallest pilot crew taping exteriors for indie films and pilot programs. How much did Oprah help ease the way for Transformers 3? (Insert your own "gargantuan robot" joke here.)
Second, the Field Museum spent this weekend celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of The Empire Strikes Back. We may not have George Lucas on the podcast, despite him coming to town for the event and a special screening - but we do have the original Boba Fett, Jeremy Bulloch. Sort of. We'll explain further inside the podcast.
We go to the archives, back to 2k5 and the release of Revenge of the Sith - Bulloch was in Chicago way back when for the release at Hollywood Boulevard and we spoke with him about action figures, the relative insanity of TESB director Irvin Kerchner, and...cricket cards?
