The NHL continues to play peek-a-boo with the conference finals schedule for some reason, refusing to release the full schedule until both series are set even though we've known for days now of the Blackhawks-Sharks match-up. And while we won't know the full schedule of the conference finals round until later today, we at least know when the series will start. The puck will drop on Game One of the Western Conference Finals Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Chicago time with the game being televised nationally on NBC. The Eastern Conference Finals, between the Montreal Canadiens and the winner of tonight's Boston-Philly Game Seven, will start Sunday evening at 6 p.m. on Versus.
In case you're wondering, the Blackhawks took the season series 3-1, winning both games in San Jose and splitting the series in Chicago.
- The Blackhawks beat the Sharks 4-3 in overtime at the United Center on November 15.
- The Blackhawks blew the Sharks away 7-2 in San Jose on November 25.
- The Sharks edged the Blackhawks 3-2 at the UC on December 22 (despite being out-shot by the 'Hawks 47-14)
- The Blackhawks beat the Sharks 4-3 in another overtime game in San Jose on January 28.
The 'Hawks have gotten a nice rest, having four days off since Tuesday's series closer against Vancouver while the Sharks will be fighting the rust, having closed out their series with the Red Wings this past Saturday.
