As this member of our Theatre Department gears up to take a bit of a summer hiatus, we once again reflect on shows we've missed. Sigh.

Abigail's Party - A Red Orchid Theatre - closing Sunday
The latest from A Red Orchid Theatre has been so successful, it extended two MONTHS past its closing date. Chris Jones says, "This is a very funny show, as is supposed to be the case, but you never think that any of laughs are flowing without an undercurrent of pain and confusion." Sounds like the party we went to last weekend. If you still miss this one, you'll have a chance to catch it this summer at Theatre On The Lake June 30 - July 4.

Stage Door - Griffin Theatre - closing Sunday
We don't know what possesses the Griffin folk to stage scripts with such enormous casts - this production has 27 actors - but we're always excited for a show with a big female contingent. In fact, Kris Vire notes that the company has "engaged so many of the city’s talented young actresses that you begin to wonder how any other theater has a show running right now."
