There sure are a lot of Vampire Weekend haters out there. [Ed. note: Well, we don't HATE them, but...] The New York act’s brand of sunny, breezy pop is enough to repulse any cynic, but we can’t help falling for their super-catchy Afrobeat tunes. Just yesterday, they announced their fall tour, which is more like an indie extravaganza as they team up with notable acts Beach House and Dum Dum Girls. The tour consists of a handful of North American stops, including Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom Sunday, September 5.

All three bands have had a breakthrough year. Since the January release of their chart-topping sophomore album Contra, Vampire Weekend has been selling out venues and non-stop touring across Europe, North America and Australia. Baltimore dreampop duo Beach House won over indie fans with their third release Teen Dream, and LA’s Dum Dum Girls knocked some socks off at SXSW. Both openers will be embarking on summer tours before hitting the road with Vampire Weekend.

Tickets for the Chicago show go on sale to the general public Friday at noon, but according to Ticketmaster, exclusive pre-sale tickets for their Chicago show go on sale this Thursday at noon, possibly here. General tickets will cost about $35 (plus Ticketmaster’s outrageous fees), and we’re assuming the pre-sale tickets will be a little pricier. But if you're really stoked about this show, we suggest you take an early lunch Thursday and start hitting that reload button at 11:59. And you might as well start squeezing your way into those skinny pants now.

Vampire Weekend, Beach House and Dum Dum Girls play Sunday, September 5 at the Aragon Ballroom, 1106 W Lawrence, 7 p.m., $35.25, All Ages
