The Morning After: Cubs Win, Sox Soaked

Ramirez Blasts Cubs To Win
It took extra innings but the Cubs have put together consecutive wins for the first time in two weeks as an 11th inning Aramis Ramirez homer gave the Cubs a 4-2 walk-off win over the Rockies last night. A Ramirez RBI single in the first inning had given the Cubs the 1-0 lead. The Cubs were up 2-1 in the 8th when John Grabow loaded the bases only to be replaced by Carlos Marmol who walked in the tying run, giving starter Randy Wells a no-decision on a well-pitched game in which he gave up one run on seven hits over 6.2 innings. And then with Starlin Castro on first in the 11th inning, Ramirez blasted the game-winning homer to deep left. Said Ramirez after the game, "We won the game, and that's the key. I did it at the right time. I'm starting to feel better at the plate. Hopefully that will carry over to the next game." That next game is tonight when the two teams wrap up their quick two-game set (7:05 p.m., CSN).

Sox Washed Out
The Sox and Tigers had their game washed out by rain last night, meaning they'll squeeze in their entire two-game set in a double-header today they'll play just one game in Detroit and make up yesterday's rain out at a later date because that makes more sense? (12:05 p.m., CSN)

Blackhawks-Sharks Drop Puck Again
Don't forget: the Blackhawks and Sharks face off tonight in Game Two of their Western Conference finals series (9 p.m., TV: Versus, Radio: WIND).
