Lee DeWyze Makes American Idol Finals

Mount Prospect's Lee DeWyze survived last night's final cut and is headed to next week's American Idol final showdown against Crystal Bowersox. DeWyze's performance last night included the below rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" much to the giddy delight of the judges (Simon had actually selected the song for Lee).

Anyway, the Daily Herald reports there will be a hometown viewing party for next Wednesday's finale at the Mount Prospect Village Green from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. DeWyze was in town last week to throw out the first pitch at a Cubs game and honored in a parade in Mount Prospect.
