North Pond, Green City Market Host Peoria-Based Chef

By Chuck Sudo in Food on Jun 3, 2010 3:20PM

2010_06_June_Adams.JPG One of the most talked-about new restaurants in the Midwest is a road trip away in downstate Peoria Heights. June chef Josh Adams deftly meshes farm fresh food with progressive cooking techniques. It makes sense, since Adams has staged at Alinea and studied the localvore approach at the knee of Paul Virant at Vie. Adams recently partnered with a nearby farm to dedicate 80 acres of land for growing organic produce specifically for June.

Adams is venturing to Chicago June 16 to promote his restaurant and cooking philosophy with a cooking demonstration at Green City Market at 10:30 a.m. Adams will follow that demo as Bruce Sherman's guest chef for a six-course, $95 dinner at North Pond, starting at 6:30 p.m. Persons interested in attending this dinner should call 773-477-5845 for reservations. The menu follows the break.
