Sox Rally Past Tribe
Down big early, the Sox rallied past the Indians 8-7 on Sunday to avoid a sweep at the hands of Cleveland. Down 3-0 early, Paul Konerko connected on a two-run shot, his 17th homer of the year, put the Sox down only 3-2 after the first inning. But the Indians scored three more to lead 6-2 heading into the bottom of the fourth when Carlos Quentin had an RBI single to make it 6-3. The Sox than rallied to tie the game 6-6 thanks to RBIs from Omar Vizquel, Alex Rios, and Mark Kotsay. Quentin once again played the hero in the seventh with a two-run single that proved to provide the winning run. Mark Buehrle's struggles continued as he gave up six runs in three-plus innings of work; J.J. Putz ultimately got the win while Bobby Jenks pitched a shut-out ninth for his ninth save on the year. The Sox get an off-day today before hosting Detroit tomorrow night (7:10 p.m., CSN).

Cubs Sunk By 'Stros
Just when it seemed like the Cubs offense had found its groove, they got off-track and lost for the sixth time in eight games, falling to Houston 6-3. Houston rode three-run innings in the first and sixth while the Cubs could only piece together a run at a time, stranding eight men on base and hitting 3-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Randy Wells gave up all six runs over 5.1 innings as the Cubs fell to 25-31 on the year. The undefeated Carlos Silva - the lone bright spot for the 2010 Cubs - takes to the hill in hopes of remaining undefeated and getting the Cubs a big 'W' this afternoon in a make-up game in Pittsburgh (11:35 a.m., CSN).
