Do This: Friday Farmer's Market at Uncommon Ground

By Anthony Todd in Food on Jun 11, 2010 7:00PM

Every Friday all summer, Uncommon Ground on Devon will be presenting "Farmer Friday Farmer's Markets." Held in the Uncommon Ground parking lot, this event includes farmers, local artisans and business owners, spirit companies, brewers and more. Live bluegrass music, played by a rotating series of acts, will accompany you as you browse through the stalls. You can also tour their rooftop garden while the market is open.

We visited the opening market last weekend and had a lovely time shopping. Some old friends were there, including Goose Island and Katherine Anne Confections, and a few new acquaintances. According to Uncommon Ground, vendors will rotate in and out, and will include such liquor luminaries as Templeton Rye and North Shore Distillery, so we'll definitely be visiting again. Afterward, grab dinner at Uncommon Ground. A tip: they have the best meatloaf we've ever tasted!

Uncommon Ground is located at 1401 West Devon Avenue. The Farmer's Market is every Friday from 4-8, live music from 6-8.
