We like funny. We like funny women even more. So we love Kristen Studard, a very funny woman who's also been starring in a one-woman show, Small Victories: An Unflattering Vanity Project, that's been running every Sunday at The Annoyance Theatre. The show, directed by Kate Duffy, a comedy talent in her own right, allows Studard to shine, whether it's as a Hungry Hungry Hippo that isn't so hungry anymore, a video-blogging girl scout, or recreating the pollination dance between a bee and a flower. The show also features some improvisation, one of Studard's strengths (she's currently part of the cast for iO's Felt, an improvised puppet show). You might recognize Kristen from her run on the future-ape-judged-comedy-game-show Impress These Apes which she walked away from as the winner of the show's second season in 2008 (no easy feat so you know she can bring the funny). Studard wraps the show's run tonight, but, lucky you, there are still three chances to see her in action: tonight and two appearances at this week's Just For Laughs comedy festival, where Kristen joins several other of Chicago's outstanding solo acts for a show of many laughs.

Small Victories, Tonight, 9:30 p.m., The Annoyance Theatre, 4830 N Broadway, $10

Alone: Chicago's Best Solo Acts, Friday June 18 and Saturday June 19, 10 p.m. (both dates), The Playground Theater, 3209 N. Halsted, $12.99
