20100613_BrotherAli.jpg .jpg Perhaps as a way of throwing some love back after Time Out Chicago devoted an entire issue to his hometown, Minneapolis rapper and Brother Ali recently dropped a new song, “Don’t Look At Me, Look Around” to promote Saturday’s Taking It To The Streets festival at Chicago Lawn’s Marquette Park.

Streets is an all-day gathering co-headlined by Ali and rapper-actor Mos Def sponsored by Inner-city Muslim Action Network, an organization devoted to “foster[ing] a dynamic and vibrant space for Muslims in Urban America.”

We’ll have more about Streets later in the week, but you can psych yourself up by listening to Ali furiously lament a society that produces “dilapidated schools” and “shiny jails” over slippery, psychedelic funk over at Nah Right. The festival is free, and takes place from 9 a.m. —9 p.m.
