Dave Awl, emcee for the event
Joe ran down some Pride-related events earlier this week but now I'm adding one more. Our pals at The Paper Machete - the fantastic weekly reading series curated by our pal Christopher Piatt that keeps growing by leaps and bounds - are holding a special Pride Weekend event this Saturday night at The Neo-Futurarium (what the Neo-Futurists call home). Dave Awl will serve as emcee for the event which features a smattering of fantastic talent, including Phil Dawkins, Coya Paz, Jack Tamburri featuring Mike Przygoda on upright bass, Kristen Studard, Jay Torrence, Tim Paul (as “The Homosexualist”), Sharon Greene, Mary Fons-Misetic, and Jayson Brooks of J.C. Brooks & The Uptown Sound. The cost will be a suggested donation of $10 at the door but you can also pay what you can afford, proceeds will benefit Test Positive Aware Network. It should be a great event for a good cause, so make your reservations and pencil it in. And you can also catch The Paper Machete at its regularly scheduled Saturday afternoon affair.
