Steel Train Rolls Through Lincoln Hall

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Jun 28, 2010 6:30PM

Steel Train's self-titled full length comes out tomorrow and it is one the biggest surprises of this summer with its super catchy sing-alongs and epic hooks. Considering they usual tour with the likes of O.A.R. and Barenaked Ladies we went into listening to the disc with highly skeptical ears but the group bears no resemblance to the bands they've opened for. Instead the quintet from New Jersey pumps out workingman songs built for stadiums. The crowd at their Lincoln Hall stop last night wasn't huge, but the fans were in step with the band every step of the way, jumping around enthusiastically and singing lyrics right back to singer Jack Antonoff. In return the band played with great enthusiasm and boundless energy and everyone n the room tuned into the same vibe realizing that this was a band that may just be ready to explode beyond their current fan base.
