With the taste of free music already whetted by Monday night’s excellent pairing of Pacific-Northwest punks The Thermals and local minimalist supergroup Disappears, Chicagoans wanting to keep the cost-effective live show party going aught to check out Southside stalwart Reggie’s Music Joint and XRT’s “Free Chill After Work Show.” That’s a premise as excellently self-explanatory as one could get, and Tuesday’s early evening show boasts One eskimO, whose single “Kandi” is practically the epitome of chill.

A light and frothy musical concoction if there ever was one, the UK-based quartet music is tailor-made for sun-filled bicycle rides around the city, with acoustic guitars and falsetto vocals providing a pleasant atmosphere. Truth be told, this is a little bit milquetoast for our taste, but the price is absolutely right, and Reggie’s is always a good place to hang out, post-work or otherwise. If you missed out on getting your live music ya-yas out, here’s your chance to redeem yourself.
