The last time we had a meetup with you readers, we said that we enjoyed it so much we were going to schedule them on a regular basis. That was back in December.

Funny how time flies. Mea culpa.

It is long overdue that we organized another reader meetup and, after many fits and starts, we're ready to once again meet you all at a centralized location and take our platitudes (or lumps) in stride. This time, we even brewed the beer. We're going to use this reader meetup to premiere "Sai-Shan-tea," the beer our food and drink jefe Chuck Sudo brewed with Goose Island Clybourn's Jared Rouben and Rodrick Markus of Rare Tea Cellar. Chuck's been telling everyone in the Chicagoist offices that the three of them brewed the beer of the summer. Chuckles is known to tell tall tales now and then, but he's proven over the years to know his beer. If he says it's the beer of the summer, then it's the beer of the summer. Now please, Sudo, take this sudoku puzzle and sit in the corner.

We're going to host this meetup at the scene of this tasty, alcohol-fueled crime: Goose Island Clybourn. In addition to "Sai-Shan-Tea," the brewpub's extensive list of fine beers will also be available (a perfect time for Kevin to pick up a growler of Green Line). We're hoping to have other nice surprises in store for you that we'll announce as we get confirmation. In the meantime, pencil in 6 p.m., July 22nd on your calendar.

Chicagoist Reader Meetup/"Sai-Shan-Tea" release party, July 22, 6 p.m., Goose Island Clybourn Brewpub, 1800 N. Clybourn.
