Twins Edge Sox
Mark Buehrle got a rare complete game loss as the Sox couldn't rally past the Twins in a 3-2 loss last night. Paul Konerko had two RBI, including a solo homer, but that was the only offense the Sox produced, not enough to overcome the three-run second inning the Twins had off of Buehrle. The Sox had a last chance in the ninth when Omar Vizquel led off with a double but no one else could bring him home. It's the second straight loss for the Sox who remain in first place in the AL Central, 1.5 games up on Detroit and 2.5 games up on Minnesota. Freddy Garcia gets the start this afternoon as the Sox try to split the series (1:10 p.m., WGN).

Fire Fall to Rev
The Fire's non-MLS struggles continued as they lost their second straight SuperLiga match, this one 1-0 to an MLS squad, though, the New England Revolution. It was also the Fire's fourth straight loss overall. Mike Banner missed a shot off the post early for the Fire and Marco Pappa was just off the mark before the half. Justin Mapp also had a blown scoring chance early in the second half. The missed opportunities haunted them as in the 76th minute, the Rev were able to score, going up for good. The Fire (0-2-0 in SuperLiga play) next play Pumas UNAM on Tuesday and they'll need both a win and some help to get through to the next round of play.
