(Updated) Inherit The Windbag: Let The Defense Begin

By Marcus Gilmer in News on Jul 19, 2010 2:20PM

After almost a week break, the Blagojevich Trial begins anew today as the defense begins presenting its case and today should include testimony from co-defendant Robert Blagojevich and his wife Julie. And after them? The ex-gov himself as well as his wife Patti. Natasha Korecki wrote a nice breakdown of the strained relationship between the two brothers earlier this year.

But that's not all: the defense also expects to call a few heavy-hitters in the Obama administration, including Rahmbo and the woman who's name was at the center of the senate seat plot, Valerie Jarrett, as well as former state senate president Emil Jones, Jr. There's no word on how long the defenses for both Blago brothers plan to take to present their cases; the prosecution took six weeks for theirs, a month less than originally planned.

And so the three-ring circus continues...

Update: The defense has said they don't expect to call Jarrett to testify but Rahm is still in play.
