Tonight's The Night: "Sai-Shan-Tea" Beer Debut/Meet-Up

By Staff in Arts & Entertainment on Jul 22, 2010 4:20PM

2010-07-21-MEETUP.jpg We hope you've cleared your calendar because tonight's our reader meetup to help Goose Island and Rare Tea Cellar introduce a new beer collaboration. The meetup will feature the premiere of "Sai-Shan-tea," the beer our own Chuck Sudo brewed with Goose Island Clybourn's Jared Rouben and Rodrick Markus of Rare Tea Cellar. We're going to host this meetup at the scene of this tasty, alcohol-fueled crime: Goose Island Clybourn. In addition to "Sai-Shan-Tea," the brewpub's extensive list of fine beers (try some Green Line!) will also be available so there'll be plenty to help keep you happy. And if Facebook invites are your thing, be sure to RSVP here.

You'll also have an opportunity this evening to purchase tickets and find out more about next month's "Taste of the Nation" event, August 12 at the Aragon Ballroom. The event, sponsored by Share Our Strength, benefits the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Near North Health Services and the Illinois Hunger Coalition to fight local childhood hunger and will feature the best chefs and cocktail makers in the city, making street food-themed eats and drinks. (Disclosure: Goose Island and Rare Tea Cellars are sponsors of Taste of the Nation, and Chuck serves on the planning committee for the event.)

This will be your only chance - for now - to take the new brew for a spin, so come by!
