Chicagoist's "Beer of the Week:" "She Wolf" From Half Acre and Three Floyds

Hot on the heels of their "Invasion" Helles bock collaboration a few months back comes the second in a series of from Half Acre and Three Floyds. On the Half Acre blog, Gabriel Magliaro described She-Wolf IPA thus:
"This India Pale Ale has a minimalist's approach with clean & uncluttered grain and hop usage. Filling out at 7.5% abv and closer to straw in color, we're excited to get this beer in the hands of summer."
Given Three Floyds reputation for brewing hop bombs and Half Acre's Daisy Cutter being, in our opinion, the best local brew on shelves right now, our hopes for She-Wolf being a hoppy ale were high. They didn't disappoint, with the floral aroma of hops assaulting the nose upon decanting. Hints of citrus, peach and pepper informed the mouthfeel of She-Wolf. the best way to describe the beer is a cross between Daisy Cutter and Three Floyds Dreadnaught IPA. Yet it drinks smooth as a summer shower.
The Half Acre retail store sells She-Wolf in growlers and bomber bottles.
