Sometimes mothers just have to be withholding
A 17 year-old accused of stealing a pizza delivery car received an unexpected dose of tough love at his court appearance Sunday morning. According to the Sun-Times, Ravontay Hutchins and a fellow teenage accomplice were arrested Saturday evening after allegedly driving off in an idling, unattended delivery car outside of Pompeii restaurant near Taylor and Ashland. Police caught the pair shortly after the owner of the car reported the theft, apprehending the suspects on foot near Albany and 13th.

The following morning, Judge Peggy Chiampas set the teen’s bail at $25,000 in Cook County Criminal Court, where Hutchins’ mother stated, "I've got [the money to bail him out], but he's staying here, locked up!"

Harsh! The Sun-Times went on to report that the boy’s mother called him “spoiled,” telling Judge Chiampas that she had “done all she could” for her son while his father is in Iraq serving in the military. Hutchins is charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, a misdemeanor battery charge and traffic citations. Chiampas, meanwhile, applauded the mother’s decision, noting her “truthfulness.” If being left in the clink by his mom weren’t enough, as Hutchins was being led away to his jail cell, mom added, "You think about that, while your dad's in Iraq."
