Radio Rumble: Carl Kasell Vs. Howard Stern
By Karl Klockars in Arts & Entertainment on Aug 2, 2010 6:40PM
While the actual Museum of Broadcasting remains a half-constructed shell of an building, the organization continues to induct members into its Radio Hall of Fame. Born contrarian Howard Stern is up for the honor (again) and like past years, he's lashing out against it and telling his listeners not to vote for him. Like Sherman, he will not run if nominated, he will not serve if elected. And all that was fine - until his invective turned to Carl Kasell.
The Chicagoist staff has not been silent about our appreciation for Wait Wait Don't Tell Me over the years, and despite an appreciation for Stern, this aggression against our radio Grandpa will not stand, man. We were all set to create a vitriolic rebuttal in defense of Kasell, until we saw this posted by Vocalo guru (and podcast guest) Justin Kaufmann and realized that they've already done a better job deflating "Stein's" assault far better than our general ire and offense ever could.

And that's how that's done.
