By Marcus Gilmer in News on Aug 5, 2010 8:40PM

2010_08_05_rice.jpg Ronald Rice, already serving a 60-year sentence for aggravated kidnapping and deviant sexual assault of an 11-year-old boy, was sentenced today to 80 years for the 1980 murder of Edwin Gulbransen. Rice had originally said he accidentally struck the boy with his car and dumped the body in a field but later admitted to strangling the boy. The case was reopened in 2008 and Rice was charged with murder. Today, Rice, who was up for parole in 2012, pleaded guilty and received his new sentence.
