Sufjan Stevens Coming to "Feel the Illinoise" Once More!

2010_08_Sufjan.jpg States like California and New York get plenty of songs dedicated to their greatness, but the Land of Lincoln seems to slip the minds of many artists. For that reason, we have nothing but love for Sufjan Stevens and his instant-classic, Illinois, the second installment in his ambitious (and now defunct) “50 States Project.”

Stevens will be returning to Illinois for his upcoming tour in October which he’s structured around the country’s most historic theaters and performance venues. Stevens will make a stop at the Chicago Theater for his October 15th show, with pre-sale tickets going up tomorrow at noon through the Asthmatic Kitty website. Exclusive seating will be available from the pre-sale tickets, which are expected to move quickly (the show isn’t available through Chicago Theater’s website yet).

We wonder if in the meantime Stevens can convince his pal and erstwhile Illinoisemaker, Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent) to drop on in--for old time’s sake?
