Chicagoist's "Beer of the Week:" Nøgne Ø Saison

Here's another entry into what's turned into the Summer of Saison, from the best (only?) craft brewery in Norway. Nøgne Ø Saison is a bottle conditioned saison that pours a cloudy golden, with a lot of sediment at the bottom of a 22-ounce bottle; you've been warned. The decanting emits a pleasant grassy aroma, with esters that tickle the nose.
Flavors on the beer include seasonal, fruity notes such as apples and peaches, with sweet grains complementing the flavors perfectly. Nøgne Ø Saison is one of the hoppier saisons available, with bright notes of white pepper and coriander rounding out the palate profile. This is a beer that has some amazing character.
Nøgne Ø Saison is available at most liquor stores worth their retail licenses. Get it now, as we've discovered saisons are a perfect summer beer.
