Today's Weather: Sweltering 2, The Sweatening

It's another scorcher today as, like yesterday, the city remains under an excessive heat warning with an air quality alert thrown in for good measure. Highs will again make their way into the low-to-mid 90s with a heat index again crossing 100. There's a chance temporary relief could come in the form of scattered thunderstorms later this afternoon and possibly overnight, when lows fall into the upper 70s. And while a warm weekend is on tap, it's looking like a break from the heat is approaching at the beginning of next week.
