  • TONIGHT, hang with the Accountants of Homeland Security at the Hungry Brain. This variety show will feature sketch from AoHS, stand-up from Mike Stanley, Mike Wiley, Cindy Cornelsen, and David Mascorro, music from Maria Wojciechowski, magic by the Amazing Bibik, and improv by County Line Rd. You Me Them Everybody podcast producer Brandon Wetherbee will sling drinks all night, offering his always colorful commentary. TONIGHT, Hungry Brain, 2319 West Belmont Ave, 9 p.m., FREE
  • On Thursday, Rehab Room in Circuit nightclub plays host to a rape victims benefit show, produced by stand-up comic Ever Mainard. This night of comedy will feature ten local stand-up comics, including Chicago Underground Comedy producer Dan Telfer, who regularly opens for Brian Posehn, Maria Bamford, and Paul F. Tompkins. One hundred percent of the $10 suggested donation will go to the Rape Victim Advocates advocacy group. Thursday, August 19, Circuit Nightclub, 3641 North Halsted, 8 p.m., $10
  • Stand-up comic Sean Flannery (Best Comic of 2010, as voted by the readers of the Chicago Reader), will debut his multimedia one man show, “Never Been to Paris,” at the Lincoln Lodge this Friday. “Outwardly, the show is about the last half a dozen or so times I nearly killed myself by drinking; partying; or simply not paying attention to things. But, more inwardly, the show is about the funny, odd, day-to-day costs of living each day like it's your last,” says Flannery. Tickets can be purchased online.
