The second bout turned out to be even rougher for the Rollers A-squad. A physical Rocky Mountain Roller Girls 5280 Fight Club blocked well and jammed even better, jumping out to a huge 31-4 lead as the Rollers struggled to find their rhythm. It was 18 minutes into the first half before the Rollers crossed double-digits and found themselves trailing 77-22 at halftime as the 5280 Fight Club stymied the Rollers' stars like Athena DeCrime and Jackie Daniels. The RMRGs maintained a constant control of jams and, more importantly, controlled a slower pace of jams to help ease their way to a big win by a final of 151-56.
It was a tough pair of losses for the Rollers, but if we know the ladies of the WCR, we know they're going to put the losses behind them and are fired up to hit the track again. With Nationals approaching in November, they'll look to get back on the winning side at their next home bout September 25 when the Second Wind squares off against the Naptown Roller Girls from Indianapolis and the Rollers' All-Star squad faces the Texecutioners out of Austin, Texas.
