We Get All Lovey About Kissy Sell Out

We can't believe it's taken this long for Kissy Sell Out to make it here, but tonight he finally debuts in Chicago tomorrow night at The Bottom Lounge as part of the North Coast Fest. Most people Stateside have probably heard Kissy Sell Out a.k.a. Tommy Bisdee's remix work without realizing it. His trademark super glitchy reworks of popular tunes truly embrace a daring aesthetic of sonic reconstruction, slicing and dicing tunes until they are both unrecognizable and even more danceable.
Don't believe us? Give this Gwen Stefani tune a spin and then see if you're still skeptical. Go ahead, well wait.
Kissy Sell Out's long-awaited debut Youth hit all shores but ours last year and it's a terrific little genius slice of excellent electro-pop. Ebullient and joyous it never panders to obtain a cheap thrill, instead opting to explore uncertain territory and force it to conform to the good times that are trampling through.
Sadly we still have to wait a while longer for that album to appear in the States, but Introducing Kissy Sell Out, a sampler EP of his material, came out just last week. We realize you may not have time to track that down before tomorrow's show (though really, you could just download it), so we've got a few tracks below for you to sample. Get psyched people, this is going to be great!
MP3: Kissy Sell Out "Harriet (Original Mix)"
MP3: Kissy Sell Out "Apple Jelly"
If you dig these tracks you can join Kissy Sell Out's mailing list for access to more MP3s and mixes.
Kissy Sell Out plays tomorrow, September 4, at Bottom Lounge, 1375 W Lake, 10 p.m., $20, 17+
