According to a court-ordered psychologist, Jacob Nodarse is fit to stand trial for the March murders of Jeffrey and Lori Kramer and their son Michael, all of Darien. Nodarse and Johnny Borizov, 28, of Willow Springs, face first-degree murder charges for the killings.

Assistant DuPage County State's Attorney Joseph Ruggiero told Judge Daniel Guerin today that he was prepared to accept the report by John Murray. But defense attorney Randy Rueckert was given more time to review it. The contents of the report have been impounded by Guerin.

After a brief court hearing this morning, Rueckert said the issue of fitness for trial and the issue of Nodarse's mental state at the time were separate matters and noted he has not yet filed any claim of insanity.

Prosecutors allege the target of the killings was another member of the Kramer family, Angela, who had been locked in a custody dispute with Borizov over their young son. Last month prosecutors also said that they would not seek the death penalty in the case.
