2010_09_16styleguide.jpeg Earlier this month, Gapers Block posted that the University of Chicago was giving away a digital copy of the 1906 Chicago Manual of Style. But...for those of us that aren't dorks for writing rules, what the hell is a style guide? Why do you need so many rules? Why is the Chicago one so damn special, anyways? And will we learn the proper usage of that newfangled electricity stuff and how to cite the 22 cents per day we earn?

Ellen Gibson with the University of Chicago did her level best to answer these questions and more - and if you want a shot at the chance to learn how to cite the Ziegfield Girls versus Gustavus V of Sweden, you can click here and try your luck, and let the good times roll!
