Muppets Take Museum! (Of Science & Industry)

By Karl Klockars in Arts & Entertainment on Sep 21, 2010 7:30PM

Allow your inner child a moment to rejoice - the Muppets and other creations from the mind of Jim Henson are coming to the Museum of Science and Industry. "Jim Henson's Fantastic World" opens at the MSI this Friday and runs through the end of January. The exhibit brings puppets, props, illustrations, experimental films, and hands-on puppet shows and character creation for the kids in case they're freaked out by the inanimate dangling Kermits.

Now more than ever are we regretting the decision to not try and spend a Month at the Museum. The temptation to mount a full-scale one man presentation of a self-hosted Muppet Show would be just too much to contain. The potential for late-night hijinks with Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem, however ... let's just hope the MSI is screening these candidates thoroughly.

Rather than continue waxing nostalgic about the love we share for the Muppets, let's just spend ten minutes in mind-blowing splendor with one of the only reasons the 70's are redeemable: Alice Cooper guest hosts the Muppet Show (and tries to steal their souls).
