Experience Vertigo on the Ledge

Willis Tower If you missed this year’s Von Steuben German Day Parade on September 11, where Ferris Bueller famously lip-synced “Twist and Shout” and “Danke Schoen,” there’s still plenty of spots to have your own day off, in tribute to Ferris and director John Hughes, who died last year.

Why not stop by the old standby, Sears Tower (named Willis Tower in 2009), where Cameron, Ferris, and Sloane press their foreheads against the glass? The tower recently added a new, even more vertigo-inducing feature to the Skydeck: four glass-bottomed balconies, nicknamed “the Ledge,” which are popular for their dramatic view 1,353 feet above the city.
