We mentioned the first verdict in Extra, Extra yesterday, but late yesterday evening, a jury convicted the other woman accused in the brutal 2008 Logan Square acid attack on Esperanza Medina. Both Maria Olvera-Garcia and Ofelia Garcia, found guilty by separate juries, were convicted on charges of heinous battery and each faces from six to 45 years in prison at sentencing. A third adult charged in the crime died awaiting trial and three teens charged in the incident previously pleaded guilty.
